Mike Bibby

Was Mike Bibby the missing piece for the Miami Heat?  Since Mike Bibby has joined the Heat on March 1st they went 15-7 in the rest of the regular season which is one game over .500 but have only lost 4 games in this post season as of this writing.  Mike Bibby is 33 and in his 12th year in the league.  He was a member of the Sacramento Kings who continued to battle with the Los Angeles Lakers during their championship run in 2001 and 2002.  He was with the Kings from 01' to 07' when he would go on to join the Atlanta Hawks.  After joining the Hawks they became more competitive and even made the playoffs the next 3 years while he was there.  Now as a member of the Heat he has finally reached the finals and has improved every team he has joined, while his overall numbers are down this year he seems to fill the void they had for a steady point guard in the beginning of the season.  He has the experience that seemed to be missing along with the veteran leadership to know when the game needs to be slowed down and no longer ran as a one on one game.  While it's hard to say Mike Bibby is the reason the Heat have reached the final and more than likely will win with a roster that bolsters the "big 3", it's hard argue with the track record he brings with him.  So until the next time our paths cross
