WWE: State of Smackdown

Now while many of us have believed for the last few years that Smackdown has the better wrestling show and roster, I feel this years roster is completely blowing Raw out of the water. If you start at the top and work you're way down the roster you can see the bright future on display every Friday night.
Main Event: Randy Orton, Christian, and Sheamus are going to be in the championship matches for many more years to come. Sheamus is the chosen one from HHH perspective instead of Vince's and with HHH being the main guy that will be running the shows completely in a few years that makes it only common sense that Sheamus will be main eventing for many years. The Orton and Christian program is something that shall be very interesting to watch it unfold due to the two superstars playing the opposite role they have the look for. Christian looks like he should be the face and with his winning the title finally made it seem like he was setup for a main event face run and even a title reign. Orton is one of the best heels to have wrestled in our time. He has the look of a psychopath and plays that role to a tee but Smackdown has decided to switch their roles and this is making for some really good television right now.
Second Tier: Wade Barrett, Ted Dibiase, Cody Rhodes, Daniel Bryan, and Sin Cara are possibly the future of the WWE but also possibly the next misses for a great opportunity. Wade Barrett has been credited by many of the legends as one of the next champs and a guy who has everything but is currently stuck in a feud with a man who is only hurting Barretts matches and progress. If they let Barrett go off on his own and just turn Slater/Gabriel into a face tag team that would help out all involved. Dibiase has been someone I always been a fan of but seems to never really got it going. I thought with him staring in The Marine 2, a face turn and push was sure to follow but that never occurred. Now he is back with Rhodes and Rhodes seems to push the aggressive side out of him, he could be onto bigger and better things. Now onto Rhodes, he is doing a great job every since the chance he received with Mysterio. He looks to be primed to be the next big heel on Smackdown and even in the WWE but if drafted to Raw next year hopefully he doesn't receive the Ziggler treatment and just make short appearances but not many matches. Daniel Bryan has been a big name on the independent scene for many years and now is doing a great job on WWE television. With a possible program coming up with Rhodes, this could be the turning point for Bryan's WWE career. With everyone saying he won't receive a chance due to his size, he is very close to the size of Jericho who after years of hard work and great matches became one of the biggest names in WWE today. Now Sin Cara was placed in this list due to the push he is being received but don't see much for him. I have been unimpressed with everything he has done and even the vignettes didn't impress me at all. I don't wish bad things for anyone but he seems destined to follow the Taka Michinoku of being highly promoted but fizzled out after a year or so.
Honorable Mention: Tyson Kidd, Jinder Mahal, and Gabriel/Slater seem to be guys with great potential just have to be displayed properly. Tyson Kidd in my opinion is the second coming of Jericho in the ring and could go so much further with Estrada and a possible stable around him. His matches are some of the top matches and even makes others look good like his match with Cara. To quote Zack Ryder hopefully he gets drafted off of Superstars. Jinder Mahal seems to be someone with great mic skills and look. Everytime I see him I think of Del Rio a year or two back. By adding him with Khali and turning him heel should add some great heat to him. His match with Yoshi left some to be desired but never been a big fan of Tatsu's in ring work so only time shall tell. Gabriel/Slater are two guys who seem to be stuck together but can work well. Gabriel seems like he can be a big time heel or face but needs to break away and Slater is someone that has that look of a face and never really seemed like a heel. This is just my take on the current state of Smackdown and hope they all can flourish like they are believed to be able to. So until the next time our paths cross.
